Burnout / Revolution

Play it!

Lyrics

Casual criticisms and cutting jibes

Wear at the strength of the soul

Petty peeves and shrilling whines

I guess it's hard to stop when you're on a roll

And from the ashes they arise

Remember these words when you turn to flee

They can never die, they can only change

Remember the phoenix before you light the gasoline

Indestructible is the soul

But it's malleable just the same

Take all the shots that you wish to take

But you better beware of how they'll change

And from the ashes they arise

Remember these words when you turn to flee

They can never die, they can only change

Remember the phoenix before you light the gasoline

You lay about with your poison tongue

Like a clumsy cow in a china shop

A casual lie to a trusting child

Will you ever learn when it's time to stop

And from the ashes they arise

Remember these words when you turn to flee

They can never die, they can only change

Remember the phoenix before you light the gasoline

Blog Notes

“Burnout Revolution” was partly done at Austin’s 5AM Studios, so Ed added vocal tracks over the rhythm track from the Austin sessions. He doubled himself but hasn’t decided yet if the doubling is going to stick around.

We all filed onto the Studio 2 stairs to become a human drum machine for “Burnout Revolution” - stomping and clapping like crazed, confused, but mostly in-time cheerleaders.
